Commercial Whaling

Commercial whaling is a serious worldwide problem and it was difficult for people who support and oppose it. Each group defended them with persuasive arguments. Morally, whaling is wrong, but the reason for whaling is beyond the reason for stopping the first fishing. By investigating the influence of whaling, understanding how culture has changed over time, and paying attention to savings, it is clear that there is no need to continue whaling.

During the past century, commercial whaling destroyed many whale populations, many of which are struggling to recover. Past commercial whaling was whale oil. Since there is no reason to use whale oil today, commercial whaling is mainly used for food and there are also some whaling for scientific research purposes. Japan is a good example of whale hunting scientific research goals, and many skeptics believe that it is used for food. Greenpeace and other organizations often publish the discovery that Japanese whaling is excessive or mainly related to food.

In the 20th century, Japan participated in numerous commercial whaling activities. This continued until the International Whaling Commission (IWC) stopped commercial whaling in 1986. Japan continues to use the scientific research regulations of this agreement to kill whales, and whaling in Japan is currently being conducted by the whale research institute. Most IWC members disagree, but this is permitted under IWC regulations. However, in March 2014, the United Nations International Court of Justice decided that the whaling program in the South, including the Australian whale reserve, is called "JARPA II" and does not comply with the International Whaling Treaty. It is used for scientific purposes. They ordered Japan to stop acting. In spite of the court's order, Prime Minister Abe immediately requested the resumption of whaling. After seeing the helicopter, the crew immediately covered his body.
