Isolated from Sullen Squire, Beaux Stratagem is considered the best script written by George Farquhar. Jonne C. Thornton cried out that "Beaux Stratagem is a representative of Restoration comedy" (4). Unlike those of contemporaries, Farquhar used more drama installations, subframes, characters, and surprises (Thornton 4). Farquhar has a unique game structure that leads to a combination of carefree comedy and serious potential social problems. The social problem as a theme of the play is to accept divorce.
Farquhar's divorce perspective is anticipating their times. The subject of divorce is controversial, and strictly prohibited in a polite company. The law rarely stipulates that a couple is permitted to divorce and that women do not permit remarriage or claim from the husband financial compensation. Beaux Stratagem decided that Squire Sullen and his wife agreed to divorce by the parties. Mrs. Saren expressed her resentment to Saren's treatment because it was clearly rebellious against the time and foresight of contemporary women's claims. Indeed, Beaux Stratagem by Fraquhar was not an initial women's freedom, but as a call for liberalization of the divorce law it may be due to his own unhappy marriage.
Gravitt's paper entitled his article "Beaux Strategem" entitled "Introduction: Happy New Foodmanism in Farquhar". Farker's central focus on this drama is the moral concept of the new epicurean. He admits other topics like divorce, money, and nature but he believes that the dominant theme includes the epicurean's first principle and the idea found in the popular resurgence of the epicurus in the latter half of the 17th century It is. Gravitt states a simple definition of Epicurean ethics. (39) "Happiness comes primarily from freedom of body pain and spiritual excitement? (39). Basic epicure is considered to be pleasure, courage and justice. (39) The moral value of these food items is expressed primarily through the behavior of Aime Well and Archer characters.
