At the turn of the 17th century, 12 British colonies survived in the new world. The only colony that had not started before 1700 was Georgia. These 12 colonies are unique as single colonies, but some begin to form similarities. In the 18th century, Eastern America was colonized by British, but motivation, geography and pioneers themselves created two different societies, New England and Chesapeake. The motivation of founder of colonies of various regions played an important role in regional development.
Students will explore the differences between the three New Era colonies, the Central Atlantic / Central and Southern colonies. In each regional group, students observe and record details of images, maps and advertisements to explain each region. Students use historical reading skills to summarize how geography and the natural environment affect economic specialization in their respective regions. I will focus especially on the early colonial era. In this lesson, prepare learners about the concept of colonial interdependence through specialization.
The UK explored North America and began to conquer. Between the 17th and early 17th century, three major colonies, the New England colony, the central colony, the south colony were formed and developed, economic freedom to own the land attracted people to North America. But during and after the French - Indian War, colonial cooperation boycotted the British policy, declared independence in 1776. The development of three colonies is completely different
North America in the mid 1700s consisted of three major regions. New England includes colonies in Maine, New Hampshire, Massachusetts, Connecticut, Rhode Island. The central area contains colonies in New York, Pennsylvania, New Jersey and Delaware. There are Maryland, Virginia, North Carolina, South Carolina, Georgia in the southern area, also called Chesapeake Colony. All three regions are British colonies, but each region has different climate, geography, population, politics, economy, and religious attitude.
The Maryland colony was one of the first 13 colonies in the United States. 13 original colonies are divided into three areas: New England colony, Central Colony, Southern colony. The Maryland colony is a southern colony, such as Virginia colony, Northern colony, South Carolina colony, Georgian colony, etc. The Maryland colony was founded in Baltimore including Cecil Calvert, Lord Baltimore in 1673. The Maryland colony was named after Queen Charles I and Wife of Queen Henrietta Maria.
