Cologne

Cologne is located about 34 km northwest of Bonn and about 40 km southeast of Düsseldorf. Just as the Rhine enters the fertile plains of northern Germany, the altitude is 65 meters. The river at this time can lead to oceangoing ships. Cologne's surroundings are diverse. The beautiful hillside of Bergischesland is on the east side and the other one is a group of hilly areas on the west side, forming a chain called ville. The North German plain extends north and northwest and the Rhine valley extends southeast from Bonn.

The maximum distance from the west to the east is about 17 miles (27 kilometers), and the distance from the north to the south is almost the same. 85 districts are divided into nine Bezirke (urban areas). The majority of the city is located on the left (west) bank of the river, which also included groups on the outskirts of the right bank, some of which were annexed in 1975. The climate in this area is calm but it is damp. The average temperature in the Cologne region in January was 2 ° C and it was 18 ° C in July.

The semi-circle in the city center was originally decided by a protective wall of 4 mile (6 km) in length, which was completed around 1200. On the wall that protects 35,000 to 40,000 people, there are several parishes that were separated in the past. (At the time, Cologne was bigger than Paris.) A semicircular plane was formed by the Rhine River. In the 1880's the medieval fortress was destroyed and replaced by a series of circular roads called Ringstrassen.

Cologne is far beyond the scope of Ringstrassen, but its focus is still in this area, the city center. Both cities are shutting down cars in major shopping and commercial areas such as Hohe Strasse (North and South) and Schildergasse (West east). There are also historical buildings in the city. Several bridges were built in the Cologne River, five of which were rebuilt after World War II and the rest were complementary after the war.

The majority of Cologne has parks, forests, lakes, sports facilities, plazas. The two major park systems generally follow the concentric pattern of old forts around Innenstadt. The first one is just outside Ringstrassen and there are zoos and botanic gardens, north to south, Stadtgarten and Volksgarten. The second one is outside green spaces. There is extensive entertainment facilities and the Müngersdorfer stadium, which is a lush green area that surrounds the western and southern ends of the city for miles. On the right bank of the river there is a large green space adjacent to the Cologne region, a line park. It is a convention center with exhibition hall and exhibition hall. The right bank also has a covered multipurpose arena that provides sports events and space for concerts.

Cologne is located in the center of the line, at the intersection of major trade routes between the east and the west, and is the cornerstone of Cologne's development. The economic structure of the medieval and early modern Cologne is characterized by the status of the city as the main port of the Rhine and the center of transportation. It is the seat of the Archbishop, dominates the surrounding area, and built the great Cologne Cathedral (from 1248 to 1880), which is the destination for many believers. By 1288, the city became independent from the Archbishop (who moved to Bonn) and was ruled by citizens.

A few days in Düsseldorf, the time has come to move to Cologne. Cologne and Dusseldorf are always discussing which is better! The area around the Rhine near the main railway station is called Heumarkt and is the most popular place in Cologne. You will find everything from hamburgers to big restaurants. It also has a pop-up market where you can experience Chandni choke in Delhi ... There are wine and beer shops everywhere. You can visit this place every day, and it always gives you a refreshing feeling. This is a field where there are several activities that are constantly being done ...
