College Students: Cheating and Morality

According to a recent report, cheating between college students and students is increasing. However, Grofton College succeeded in reducing student cheating by adopting the honorary program. I agree to not do academic cheating and oblige the teacher if I suspect that others are fraudulent. The honorary code of Grofton replaces the system that teachers pay close attention to students, according to this system teachers report an average of 30 cheating a year on average. In the first year of the Honorary Code, the student reported 21 fraudulent acts, and in five years the number decreased to 14. Furthermore, in a recent survey, most of Grofton's students said that it is unlikely that they would use honor codes instead of using fraud instead of illegally using code. Therefore, all universities need to adopt honorary rules similar to Groveton in order to reduce fraud between students.

Donald McCabe, Kenneth Butterfield, and Linda Trevino report in their book "The Cheats in the College: Why Students Do This, and What Can the Educators Do".
