Question According to NCES, 30 to 60% of university freshman nationwide need individual guidance courses to satisfy college entrance requirements (2004). In Texas, 38% of Texas students go to two-year colleges and vocational schools, and 24% of 4-year public fourth graders are taking individual instruction courses in the 2006 academic year (Terry 2007). 28% of US universities have reported that students are not able to obtain a degree in a couple of years because they spend their individual tutoring programs for at least one year (NCES, 2003).
INTRODUCTION Today, educators and policy makers are more aware of the fact that preparations for universities and employment are important achievements for high school graduates. The goal of university and career preparation is obvious in the development of common core national standard (common core). The common core is K - 12 "It focuses on providing students a consistent and clear understanding of what they should learn and ensuring that students graduate from high school and prepare for university and career As of June 2012, the common core is already in 46 states and Colombia SAR adopts .iii
Coupled with the complexities of the challenges associated with this topic, the growing interest in university and career preparation brought about a rapidly developing university and career preparation community filled with resources and chaos. National high schools have recently scanned organizations covering preparations for universities and careers and identified over 70 such organizations, including organizations focused on policy, practice, advocacy, access, and research did. Through this scan, universities and career development organizers were created to help you understand this increasingly complex topic.

ACT Academy and Career Preparation Standards ACT Academy and Career Preparation Standards explain the skills, strategies, and types of understanding necessary to make a successful transition from high school to university. For English, Mathematics, Reading, Science, six ranges of scores are provided that reflect the progress and complexity of each academic discipline measured by the ACT test. To write, please provide a standard for five score ranges. The ACT Academy for each exam and employment preparation standards and benchmark scores can be found at www.act.org.
