College Admissions Essay: My Contribution to Disability Awareness

My contribution to disability consciousness at 8 AM, the corridor of Millroad elementary school is busier than Grand Central Station. The only difference is that Mill Road students are one foot shorter and ten times more energetic than the average Grand Central Station commuters. These walls are covered with hundreds of pictures and paintings, compared to the dorm room I just left. Corridors can compete with modern galleries for pure volume and some critics may discuss their content.

By replacing the admission process, students with intellectual disabilities usually enter the university as students who can not enter. As a student other than a university entering a higher education institution (IHE), a student with intellectual impairment should attend a university course, find a meaningful job, and participate in various university activities and services. When a university program accepts mentally retarded students, they are considered "other qualifications" and are subject to rational consideration. Students with intellectual disabilities must register in the disabled service office in the same way as other students. While program staff provide support beyond reasonable consideration to students with ID cards, disabled serviced offices should address all adaptation and campus accessibility issues.

Parents and students should be aware that all universities today must provide support services and appropriate consideration to college students with learning disabilities. However, the existence of these services does not mean that a particular university or university is suitable for individual students. The type of service that provides these services and the university and university staff vary from university. In addition, selectivity of general admission is still a factor to consider. For example, Brown University offers excellent academic support services to students with learning disabilities, but these students also need to meet very high admission standards for Brown University.
