Coke vs Pepsi: The Innovation Winner

Coca-Cola (hereinafter referred to as "Coca-Cola") and Pepsi-Cola sell carbonated beverages of each brand from the latter half of the 19th century (Zmuda, 2011). In 1975, PepsiCo began "Pepsi Cola Challenge" to carry out Pepsi and Coca Cola for the North American taste test. This "challenge" continued until the 1980s and was born by "Battle of Coke" (Zmuda, 2011). Zmuda (2011) pointed out that Pepsi lost "Coke Wars" in 2011 as Diet Coke won the second place from Pepsi. Although this has been controversial for a long time, there is a big difference between management and the view of innovation of the two companies.

Today, I am drinking Pepsi. This is strange as it is not a popular drink in South Africa. Coca-Cola has advantages. When I was drinking a cold Pepsi, my thought was embarrassing. Are there any major differences between Coca-Cola shareholders and Pepsi-Cola shareholders? Of course, one of them gets "better done" and gains higher profits. The winner will always be there. In the process of growth, there will always be hot discussions among my family: Coca-Cola and Pepsi.
