Cognitive Development Study

Introduction The purpose of this research is to analyze cognitive development theory and concepts in different age-related stages in a practical way. Using Piaget's developmental theory, we tested the cognitive abilities of two subjects aged 4 and 18 and compared their preoperative and formal operational development milestones. Cognitive abilities are determined by focusing on the subject's ability and rationale to group 20 different objects. Based on the research results, we compare Piaget's theory and predicted learning ability at the developmental stage related to age.

Piaget (1936) is the first psychologist who systematically studied cognitive development. His contributions include a stage theory of cognitive development of children, detailed observational studies of child cognition, and a series of simple and creative tests to reveal different cognitive abilities. For Piaget, cognitive development is a gradual reorganization of the psychological process by biological maturity and environmental experience. Children deepen their understanding of the world around them and then experience the differences between what they already know and what they find in the environment.

The results of this study show that children with less maternal traditional beliefs demonstrate higher academic performance and higher levels of cognitive development. In fact, this study found that there was a positive contribution to the confidence of the mother and the warmth of the mother.
