Gene Demby is the team's main blogger. Prior to coming to NPR he served as an editor and later reported on the politics of Huffington Post BlackVoices. He has held various positions in the New York Times for six years. While enrolled in the 2007 Times, he founded a national, cultural, political and media blog called PostBourgie and received the 2009 Best News / Political Website Black Blog Award. Shereen Marisol Meraji joined the team after reporting on the market Fortune and Poverty Desk.
