"Kill Rooster" is an English children's song widely used as the prototype of homicide in the world culture [Required citation]. That Roud Folk Song Index is 494.

The earliest rhyme record is a beautiful song of Tommy's thumb and is published. In 1744, only the first four verses were noticed. The extended version below is not displayed up to c. 1770 [1]

Nursery rhymes are often reinserted into illustration as reading material for children. [Need for quotation] There is another end to rhyming. This rhyme is based on mythical events such as Waldrin's death in Norse mythology [1], or ritual sacrifices of the king's character as suggested by early folkloreists into 'cathellen' theory of 'pagan survival' Recording. [6] [7]

This was a bad imitation of William II 's death and was killed with an arrow when he was hunting in New Forest (Hampshire) in 1100. [8]

Robin was a small form of Robert, which was printed for the first time near the incident, so this rhyme was associated with the collapse of the Robert Walpole regime of 1742. [1]
