The American Merchant Marine Academy is a federal service university that educates and graduates an exemplary commercial naval officer who responds to the needs of US maritime transport and defense in peace and war. This university is located in Kings Point, New York, with more than 900 students enrolled. The USMMA is known for its rigorous academic program and the baccalaureate program requires more units than any other federal service school. American Merchant Marine Academy will not charge student tuition. However, students pay service fees including laundry, tailors and hairdressing services an average of $ 850 per year. In addition, students will bear the cost of transportation expenses, general goods, health insurance, laptop bags etc. Considering tuition fees, the Merchant Marine Institute bears accommodation and meals.

The Long Island Coastal Research Education Association is an OAP partner that provides the opportunity to view large marine mammals safely and responsibly. Their mission involves conducting research and promoting the protection of coastal ecosystems while providing educational experience and advocating more citizen participation in marine scientific research. Action 61 Fisheries Entry Point Kiosk Project provides information on recreational fishing and fish identification in multiple languages. This project aims to provide recreational fishermen with information on salt water fishery regulations. Information to provide fishing season closure, baggage restrictions and size restrictions is now available. Information kiosks also provide information on species identification and other marine habitat information. This project provides opportunities for OAP to educate the public and encourage marine and marine management.
