Christopher Columbus is an American entrepreneur. He thought of his project alone, spent nearly 10 years in poverty, and gathered funds to depart west to find a backdoor route to East India. Most of us can not begin to understand Columbus' unchallenged curiosity, the intellectual drive and the outcome of navigation. Without GPS, most of us can not find a gift basket.
Today, the reputation of Columbus is besieged. However, those who try to legalize the heritage of Genoan explorers may actually have bigger goals. His contribution to Columbus' statue and his achievement represents in many ways the tradition of Western freedom, freedom, and rule of law. America is best to defend Columbus and to win this war. Nobody can save the world next time.
