Christmas Eve: Italian Food

My grandparents' house has Christmas Eve. I sat in a noisy restaurant with the whole family. When seven kinds of fish dishes were cooked, my grandfather came to put everyone on the table in front of us. My favorite Christmas Eve dish is the language that was first picked up. When my grandfather entered the room, my mind suddenly was shocked by the taste of homemade white juice and fresh shellfish. My grandfather slowly put the bowl in the middle of the table, and I was almost impossible to stop myself from jumping into the water.

We all know that Italians can cook. Christmas is time to prove it. Traditional Italian Christmas has enough food to serve everyone six times and still needs some leftovers. I attended Christmas Eve dinner in Italy, but they will not be disappointed (cry out to my nanny). Traditionally, many Italian families fasted to Christmas Eve, so the feast was right at the end of the day. It seems that the dinner of seven fish does not end, but usually you need to stop halfway and reflect all the fish you just eat. Still, because Jesus wishes you to do this, you keep pampering. Many families give up dairy products and meat on holidays, so many seafood dishes are fried and cooked. While other Christian families around the world celebrate Christmas Eve with various meats, Italians (especially Sicilian) celebrate the traditional Catholic "7 fish feasts" that historically served 24 hours after fasting. Christmas hunger is no longer a popular habit, but some Italian-Americans are still participating in midnight masses enjoying the meatless Christmas Eve feast.
