This symbolic Christ statue is built on the hill of Corcovado, staring at the blue sea of Rio de Janeiro and the Guanabara Bay. Nearly 800,000 people hiking mountains every year for close observation
In order to reach the monument the visitor had to climb a series of steep stairs after climbing the hillside. Today, they can simply use the Otis lift from the station to the sightseeing spot, then use the Otis escalator in the rest of the road.
As part of a major conservation project in the early 21st century, the Roberto Marinho Foundation is seeking ways to improve access to the Summit while achieving strict environmental objectives.
The Foundation is a member of the United Nations Sustainable Solutions Network and has studied about 20 proposals before choosing Otis. We installed three energy saving Gen 2® lift and four advanced outdoor escalators
With the coated flat strip and ReGen® drive, the Gen 2 lift saves 75% energy compared to conventional gear lifts that do not use regenerative technology. Quiet operation of the Gen 2 system does not affect the tranquility of the summit
Our outdoor escalators are designed to withstand the harsh weather. To save power and reduce wear, the sensor is stopped when not using the escalator
The hoistway of the elevator is hidden in the forest of the park and the escalator is along the contour of the mountain
Built in 1931, Christ the Redeemer is said to be the statue of the world's largest decorative art with a height of 38 meters, including an 8 meter pedestal. It is made of reinforced concrete covered with sapphire and it is chosen for its durability and ease of use. Its name is Portuguese, Brazil's mother tongue is Cristo Redentor.
On the first day I was going to pick a picture of Christ the Savior. But I remember that the mural paintings we made were including the savior Christ. It is unbelievable to see the Redeemer of Christ. This is one of the seven wonders of the world! It is amazing in front of what many people would like to see with their own eyes. It also provides a wonderful view of Brazil so it is obvious why it is such a popular tourist destination. When I was in Brazil, I was able to talk to my grandfather several times. I am very glad to show him the pictures I took and talk to him about it.
There are also several staircases, and we are staring at one of the most representative statues of the savior Christ, the world. We have awe of a wonderful view of the city, the beach and the mountains. Such sightseeing spots are not always in return. Often they are overwhelmed by self-timers. The Savior Christ is full of self-portraits as much as all the other landmarks, but the statue of 125 feet is worth a trip to the mountain. We accepted that point, took some pictures, and absurd the fact that we walked over the majority of the mountains. We got off the bus, brought the minibus to the ticket office, returned five kilometers back to the city bus and came back. We asked some taxi drivers, decided it was worthlessness, and then began to return. Walking relatively fast, we saw a bus waiting at the station. The driver is in the toilet next to the road
