China’s One Child Policy: A Detriment to the Nation

In 1979, China implemented one child's policy for each family. This policy aims to alleviate congestion and maintain a stable economy. Families who do not follow this policy will be fined and forced to stop sterilizing by stopping the second or third pregnancy. They may also be ridiculed by society and refuted. There is constant immunity in this policy. For example, in some areas of Chinese rural areas, a couple can have two children. If two of the couples are from one child's home, it is also permitted to produce two children.

"One-child policy in China" - Part of the family planning policy is Chinese population planning policy. It was released in 1979 and was officially abolished in 2015. This movement by China ended in failure. This policy leads to an imbalance between men and women and an increase in women's abortion. This is happening, as India does, as China is traditionally a patriarchal society, people like at least one boy more than girls. Therefore, when the government limits the number of children to one person, people want to choose female abortion to have a boy. This led to a large gender imbalance, which led China to become the world's worst male-female ratio in 2004 (122 males, 100 females). This gap brought some bad behavior like the price of a bride whose bride money was regained. In some cases, the bride will spend money to escape after a few days' marriage, so the child causes all these problems.

In 2013, China announced that it would officially change its one-child policy. The National People 's Congress changed its policy and allowed two children to have as long as one of the couples is the only child. This change is not dependent on the ratio of men and women, but due to the aging of the population, the labor force is getting smaller and smaller. With this new law, it is estimated that 2 million new freshmen are born each year, possibly leading to a baby-boomer generation in China. In 2015, China officially relaxed the child law. Unfortunately, many of the social problems in China are based on overpopulation. Therefore, as the number of citizens increases, it is still unknown whether this new law will truly attract women's attention in Chinese society.
