China and Environment Protection

For decades, China has become the world's second largest economic power from the third world country. But how did China achieve such success in such a short time. The government neglects the environment and achieves contamination with a few regulations. To minimize costs, industrial pollution is a symbol of the state. The river is often dried to extract the underlying minerals and other rivers are used as waste and sewage systems.

China's formal environmental protection was first motivated by the United Nations Conference on Human Environment in 1972, held in Stockholm, Sweden. Later, they established an environmental protection agency and began managing some of the industrial waste. China is one of the first developing countries to implement a sustainable development strategy. In 1983 the State Council announced that environmental protection will be one of the basic national policies of China, and in 1984 the National Environmental Protection Agency (NEPA) was founded. After a serious flood in the Yangtze River basin in 1998, NEPA was upgraded to the National Environmental Protection Agency (SEPA). This means that environmental protection is being deployed in the first stage. In 2008, the National Environmental Protection Agency was known by the current name of the Ministry of Environmental Protection (MEP) of the People's Republic of China.

The Chinese Constitution clearly states the state environment and ecological environment to protect and improve people's lives. It can prevent and manage pollution and other pollution (Article 26). In 1979, China enacted the "Environmental Protection Act" (trial) which was revised and officially promulgated in 1989.
