At the turn of the 20th century, child labor was regulated by the state. However, in 1900, only 15 states passed the legislation restricting child labor and inconsistent. According to the 1900 US census, one in six children is engaged in wage labor. It has been growing since 1870 and will continue to grow over the coming decades.
In 1906, the reformers in the north formed a nationwide child labor council (NCLC) with Al Garaba's child labor activist Edgar Gardner Murphy. To mobilize support for their careers, NCLC hired photographer Lewis Hine to record child labor. Between 1908 and 1917, he traveled throughout the United States, shooting child labor in factories, factories, fields, mines, and streets, and sometimes entered a restricted area via tricks. He interviewed the children to examine their age, job schedule and education level. This information is posted in his magazines, posters, brochures along with his photographs. These scenes previously did not seem to American citizens and influenced collective moral anger.
Amid such social concerns, NCLC encouraged Parliament to establish the federal child labor law. The first one was the Keating - Owen Act of 1912, the shipment of goods produced at factories and mines hiring children was prohibited. The United States Children's Bureau was founded in 1912. Obligations of government agencies are bigger than child labor reforms - investigate and report happiness of American children
In the American Progressive era (1890-1920), education is seen as a means of cultivating creative, artistic and emotional aspects of individual children, rather than encouraging coherence and professional preparation There was an era. Many parents and educators are now very popular for returning to this education, but rigorous testing systems - and more and more homework - may ensure that this will not happen for a while. Children doing a lot of homework are forced to choose, to take more time on extra-curricular hobbies and interests, or to continue to meet school-specific requirements. Of course, several extracurricular activities are considered appropriate as well. It is worth mentioning that being able to give sports and musical instruments to good students is also particularly worth mentioning (usually because school has high reputation). Students who are not suitable for these narrow areas can not expect such arrangements.
Progressive America. The early 1900s is also called progressive exercise because of the many reforms and improvements made during this time. 2005 is very similar to the early progressive movement and can be categorized as an advanced era. Three of the four goals of progressiveism are running in the 21st century. - Progressive historians must determine the meaning of "progressive history". It can be either a history written by "progressive historians" or a history written by a historian in the era of American historical progress. The focus of this paper is more consistent with the latter explanation and otherwise provides a comparison between useful comparisons and "control" literature.
The period from 1890 to 1920 was called the advanced era of America, the era of industrialization and production growth. Social issues such as working conditions of children and women, public health and safety are becoming the domestic most important issues. Women clubs and organizations such as the Young Woman Christian Association (YWCA) and the National Women's Club Association (GFWC) were established to solve some of these social problems. In order to tackle racial discrimination and other social problems affecting African-American women and their families, we organized the National Coloring Race Improvement Association.
