The purpose of this study was to evaluate sad mood disorder (general irritability, loss of enjoyment of previously enjoyed activities, withdrawal from friends and family, refusing to play at school, despair). Children with mood disorders have problems with school, social and family environments, and transition to adulthood. Gaming therapy is an effective and creative way to work with children with mood disorders. The game is a way for children to communicate and treat. Computer / video games are funny and engaging for kids and are already in use in many different environments for children. A qualitative group case study design was used to test the effectiveness of computer / video games as a game therapy tool to treat emotional disturbances. Overall, the results of this study support the fact that children with mood disorder experience difficulties in academic, emotional and social aspects. The findings support the literature that game therapy can effectively treat children with emotional problems. Finally, the findings confirm the utility of video and computer games as a tool of game therapy that children suffer from a sad mood disorder.
