Finkelhor et al. (2005), the rise in the child's damage rate in the past few decades has caused global concern for child abuse. As these growth rates rise, most countries around the world are beginning to address this problem. In most countries laws have been enacted that classify child victim cases as criminal offenses punished by law (Finkelhor et al., 2005). As Giardino (2010) points out, the prevalence and impact of child abuse are increasing, and detailed investigation and research around the world is necessary.
Discussions on how to define child victimization stresses the fact that in some very important aspects the child's victimization is different from adult victimization. Of course, even for economic crimes such as murder, robbery, sexual violence, even extortion and fraud, children are suffering from all the victims of adult experiences. However, the remarkable difference is that children are also suffering from criminal activities related to identity. The main status of childhood is characterized by its dependence. It is at least partially socially and psychologically immature function. A violation of this dependence condition is likely to cause damage such as physical ignorance of forms that most adults do not suffer (in addition to elderly people and patients, they are also dependents). Even in crimes that may occur in both children and adults, other aspects of childhood affect the behavior of the victim.
Discussions on the reasons for declining crime rates and reasons for concrete improvement of children's damage and welfare indices by victims of children are relatively few, and there is a contradiction among scholars. The review is sufficient to influence a wide range of changes and emphasizes several strong factors that are appropriately timed in the context of recent child damage reduction (Finkelhor & Jones, 2006). First, the United States began a large and sustainable economic boom in the early 1990s. Secondly, in the late 1980's, a new class of psychotropic drugs for treatment of depression and anxiety appeared, prescribing trends being a psychotropic drug (including behavior control drug Ritalin) that is prevalent by primary care physicians It shows a significant increase in the number of children and adults taking.
