Child Soldiers in Africa

"My mother opposed me to join a soldier in our town but when I was killed by the rebel arm I had to do something, I became a member of a soldier "(Francis 7). In the world, about 300,000 children are hired as child soldiers (Hil 1). One-third of this number of children is fighting for African government forces and rebels (Hill 1). According to the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child, child soldiers are defined as all children who engaged in hostile activities under the age of 18.

The main reason for the recruitment of child soldiers in Africa is poverty. "War" itself, diffusion of small arms, lack of education, evacuation and other factors inevitably lead to recruitment of child soldiers, but poverty is the fundamental cause of these situations. Therefore, in this paper, we will demonstrate this case by investigating how Africa achieves such a high level of poverty and showing the relationship between other factors and poverty factors. To determine the meaning of the term "child soldier" it is necessary to first define and define a brief description of recruitment practices. This will allow us to better understand the devastating consequences of not coping with potential causes such as extreme poverty. Subsequently, this article explores the factors that explain the phenomenon of child soldiers in Africa and it is obvious that poverty is a theme that repeatedly occurs through examination of causal factors.

Africa is often regarded as the center of the phenomenon of child soldiers. Armed groups using child soldiers are covering the continent of Africa and almost all wars are there. The result seems to be a most popular link between African children and war. For example, according to Angola's survey, 36 people of Angola's children total 15 people who participated in war as soldiers and companions.
