Introduction Synthesis is usually a process of preparing compounds by simple compound combinations. For example, the term photosynthesis, photos means together with light. Photosynthesis is the process of converting sunlight into organic food such as plants. Photosynthesis is the foundation of life on Earth without it, and we can produce not only the fruits and vegetables we consume but also the food of the animals we eat.
There is no brief explanation of chemical synthesis, it is difficult to explain photosynthesis. Chemical synthesis uses chemical reactions to release energy and form sugar. There is only one formula for the photosynthetic reaction, but the chemical synthesis reaction depends on the organism. Bacterial chemical synthesis reactions at deep sea hydrothermal vents combine hydrogen sulfide, oxygen and carbon dioxide to form formaldehyde (H - CHO, sometimes denoted CH 2 O) and release sulfur and water. Other chemically synthesized bacteria oxidize methane or reduce sulfide to release energy. Chemically synthesized bacteria are the foundation of the deep-sea community food chain where sunlight can not penetrate. Chemically synthesized bacteria also appear in several hot springs on land.
This is done by a process called chemical synthesis. Chemically synthesized organisms are sulfide oxidizing bacteria. Hydrogen sulfide is emitted from the seabed. Bacteria absorb sulfur from hydrogen sulfide and oxidize it to produce energy. H 2 + S - -> H 2 S + energy. This energy drives all living organisms in deep ocean vents Biological forms of sugar, fat, amino acids are very similar to plants, but they are based on sulfur. Like photosynthesis, this process is very complicated, but it maintains numerous living creatures in the ocean (Stover)
In this episode, Ed talks with Colleen Cavanaugh and finds out how strange the tube worm lives in perfect darkness, even without the mouth and anus. In a process called chemical synthesis, symbiotic bacteria in a tube worm use hydrogen sulfide released from vents as an energy source for itself and a worm. The entire unexpected ecosystem caused by chemical synthesis thrives in the dark deep sea
Energy fixed during photosynthesis or chemical synthesis is called primary production. In photosynthesis, sunlight is used as an energy source and is fixed to organic compounds necessary for carbohydrates, protein fats and all other herbivores. In chemical synthesis, oxidizing or reducing compounds such as sulfides are used for energy fixing. Erosion control is a function provided by the land ecosystem plants. Growth of plant roots prevent soil erosion. Accumulation of plant garbage and organic residues helps to preserve and recycle nutrients. Therefore, soil accumulation rate will be faster than erosion rate, therefore erosion is suppressed. Aquatic plants play an important role in suppressing erosion of estuaries, rivers and marine ecosystems.
