Chasing Zero

Chasing Zero is a documentary designed to educate viewers about the universality of medical injuries and inspire public and healthcare providers to be inspired by the preventability of these incidents (Discovery, 2010). According to the documentary, more people are dead each year due to preventable medical errors, not due to breast cancer, car accident, or AIDS death (Medical Research Institute, 1999). Injurious drug events, surgical injury, faulty surgery, suicide, suppression of related injuries, falls, burns, pressure ulcers, and erroneous patient conditions can lead to medical injury (Institute of Medicine, 1999) .

It is addictive to chase after zero days (when your e-mail inbox has clicked an unread message with zero). Embarrassingly, this is now "things".
