Many battlefields were preserved and restored in the 18th and 19th centuries. Many national, state and local battleground park organizations are also open to visitors. For information on how to access one of the initial US campaign sites, please see the Battlefield section.
French Canadians had not fought with British organizations like British Canadians, but had trouble protecting their hometown. On 26th October 1813, Charles Michel Sarabary and a small unit of 1,600 people blocked 4,200 Americans during the Battle Guai fight in Canada. One of De Sarabbury's strategies is to blow up the horns in the forest. It gives the impression that it is a greater force.
The strengths of British pro commanders are indicated by Sir Isaac Block (Ontario) in Upper Canada, Colonel of Charles de Sarabury in Canada and Canada (Quebec) in Canada. As soon as the war was announced, the block soon grasped the American post of Lake Huron of Michilimackinac. In addition to closing the important intersection in the Great Lakes, his success won Indian leader Tecumseh's praise and loyalty. Then Block led his troops to colonize Fort Detroit in colonial militia, Fos and Tecumseh's Indians. And secured upstream of the Great Lakes.
Perhaps the most famous militia is the volunteer team led by Charles-Michel Dornbury de Saraburi, British army officer born in Beauport, Canada, Voltijour in Canada. Voltigeurs was originally allocated to protect the eastern town. In November 1812, they met 6,000 people who invaded this area from the American Major General Dearborn and Plattsburgh. De Salaberry rushed to Lacolle to block intrusion with Voltigeurs and a group of 230 Kahnawake Mohawk combatants. They could not stop the invasion, but a few days of small conflict increased the cost, and Dearborn withdrew after a few days. Spring of 1813, the division of the Voltilit armies was seen, some of which strengthened the defense of Kingston and other people involved in failed attacks on Sacket Port. But Voltidur is best known for their service in the battle of Chateaugui and the battle of Chrysler farm.
