Character Education and Service Learning

It determines what constitutes a successful individual. Education is an important part of creating prosperous people, but a positive character is equally important. "You need to remember that intelligence is not enough alone. Intelligence and Personality - This is the goal of real education." (Little Martin Luther King is cited by Haines and Thomas) General Core Course Therefore , Service learning, character education, and citizen learning (textbook learning) should be conducted at school to provide the most useful tools for shaping future members of society.

Service learning is part of school reform that connects academic applications and real-life applications through participation in tasks and projects that require integration of academic knowledge and skills (service learning and character education, 2001) . Service Learning provides students with realistic opportunities to develop and test the personality traits learned in the classroom. Schools associate character development with ethics and link students with community and service learning to connect each other. Community service plans should be developed at primary and secondary levels (Huffman, 1993) to allow students to reach a level of active interest in others' welfare.

This is a project-based learning format, and academic goals are achieved through community service. Service Learning fosters citizenship, responsibility and many other positive characters' virtues and it is the most powerful character education program you can implement. This is your way of doing.

Service learning is roughly defined as an educational approach that combines learning objectives and community services to provide experiences that meet social needs. Social justice can be traced back to Plato and Aristotle, and can be regarded as a means of teaching through compassionate behavior. Indeed, many educators have Aristotle's words in the classroom. "Educating the heart without educating the mind is not an education at all." "Objective art" is what I started about 20 years ago. The term used, it always exists, dear, my heart. I noticed that this notion not only changed the attitudes of my students but also I changed the attitude of my school and community as a whole, so I feel very strong about this.
