Changing Policy on Medieval Heresy

According to the definition of the medieval church, heresy is "a view chosen by the human perception found in the Bible, contrary to the teaching of the church, publicly declared and stubbornly defended" (Moore ix ). The word "heresy" comes from the Greek word "harelsis" and means "George xi". In the Middle Ages, heresies became a substitute for the Catholic Church from the 700's to the 1400's (George 342, Roach 11). Ordinary people are beginning to receive more and more education (Roach 52).

The Inquisition in the Middle Ages started in 1184.
