In the United States today, it seems to have a major functionalist view of the family. The functionalist view of these families is also seen as a fundamental cause of many social problems (crime rate, economics, education, etc.). It is proposed that regaining a more stable family structure in politic and other various organizations is a solution to many social problems. I do not think this position is correct. The purpose of this paper is to define the wide range that constitutes the "family" at the present moment and how the various elements play a role in society as a whole. It also shows the challenges posed by changes in family composition. From a functionalistic point of view, it focuses on the composition of the American family, changes in the roles and responsibilities of parents, and the impact of workplace changes on family life. There are many ways to study families and create various perspectives. One way is by a functionalist approach. The functionalist approach focuses on the relationship between family and society. When observing a family, the functionalist approach studies the influence of families on society such as reproductive and stable. Shaws 2002 explains the development of a functionalist approach. As three famous sociologists influenced this model, this view shows that it will be a major theoretical model mainly in the field of sociology.
