Organizations in the 21st century are faced with unprecedented challenges. These challenges include restructuring, M & A, technology trends, political and international trends, and intensified domestic and international competition. These challenges are not specific to a particular organization or industry but will affect all organizations regardless of their nature, structure and scale. One of the challenges is the climate of the organization itself. The organizational climate is the internal environment of the organization where employees work. The earliest mention on organizational climate can be found in articles by Lewin, Lippitt and White (2010), which highlights the role of leaders in climate creation. The climate in the organization plays an essential role in how the conformity (or hostile) of the organization changes (either internal or external) and in ways in which the organization can easily adapt to these changes or developments (Brown & Brooks 2011).
In the 21st century, profit organizations, nonprofit organizations, or charitable organizations must face many challenges. Due to the rapid changes in the economic environment of domestic and international sectors, these organizations need to rebuild new strategies to solve new challenges. While developing strategies and targets, the organization itself needs to be changed to enjoy the competitive advantage of other competitors. As a charity, Oxfam must face some of the changes and challenges that have never faced the past. Shortage etc (Oxfam, 2012). http://www.oxfam.org/en/about/what/purpose-and-beliefs
