In this 4-hour module, CERT members will be able to: 1) how the basic training skills of CERT relate to people and traffic management, 2) effective communication strategies to guide traffic and people, 3 ) Crowd management plan to learn crowd management skills and basic thinking; 4) Traffic control equipment to manage traffic safely in all situations and a method of formulating basic traffic management plan. The materials can be customized according to local training needs in Word format and PowerPoint format.

These PowerPoint slides are intended for use in the CERT Program Manager Course and follow the same syllabus as the Instructor's Guide and Participant Handbook of the Program Manager Course. Topics covered include development and promotion of the CERT program, maintenance of the CERT program, training and exercises, and cooperation with volunteers. Slides are available in PDF and PowerPoint formats. PowerPoint slides can be changed according to local training needs. The teacher's guide provides guidance on teaching the CERT course. This document contains a dangerous appendix that outlines 13 natural disasters and artificial disasters. The "Teacher Guide" and "Dangerous Attachment" sections are also available in Microsoft Word format so that users can change the course to best meet the regional training needs.
