Centre issues parameters for metro rail systems under 'Make in India' initiative

New Delhi: The Center has issued "essential parameters" for electrical components used in subway systems such as elevators, escalators, tunnel ventilation, environmental control systems, etc. for the purpose of standardization and localization.

Resident officials in residential urban areas said they need to comply with these parameters when the state government seeks financial assistance from the center when implementing the subway project.

According to the ministry, these parameters are aimed at achieving the consistency of technical specifications of electric projects used in different subway systems to achieve standardized procurement and localization.

Officials said the electrical system used in the subway track system included elevators, escalators, tunnel ventilation and environmental control systems, power and traction systems, and electrical and mechanical systems (underground and ceiling).

"If the central government requires financial assistance to implement the subway system, all state governments must comply with these parameters.

According to the provincial parameters, depending on the installation location, it is necessary to set various types of lighting at the subway station of the subway.
