The central nervous system (CNS) is a part of the vertebral nervous system consisting of the brain and spinal cord. The major components of the nervous system include neurons and nerves. Neurons usually consist of somatic cells, cell bodies, dendritic trees and axons. Most axon protrusions, often called nerves (actually nerve cells), are considered to be PNS

The nerves that pass through the spinal cord and the nerves from the PNS provide perceptual input to the brain, the brain processes the information and starts the reaction. The spinal cord is a major means to recognize information inside and outside the brain (Chamberlin and Narins 2005). Information flows from the PNS to the CNS, recognizes the internal and external environment, and sends brain responses to various organs and tissues through the spinal neural network (Chamberlin and Narins 2005).

The brain and spinal cord are covered with three layers of meningeal membrane, which is a membrane of connective tissue. The meninges protect and nourish nerve tissue. Between the meninges, an extracellular fluid called cerebrospinal fluid

The brain is divided into three main areas: the forebrain (forebrain), the midbrain (midbrain), and the hindbrain (rhombus). The brain is also filled with cerebrospinal fluid and has a lumen (ventricle) connected to the spinal canal.

Central nervous system and peripheral nervous system: The nervous system can be divided into two main fields. The central nervous system (CNS) is the brain and spinal cord, and the peripheral nervous system (PNS) is everything else (Figure 1). The brain is contained within the cranial cavity of the skull, and the spinal cord is contained within the vertebral body cavity of the spine. It is a little too easy to say that the central nervous system is inside these two rooms and the peripheral nervous system lies outside of them, but this is the way to start thinking about that. In fact, some elements of the peripheral nervous system are located in the cranial cavity or vertebral body cavity. The peripheral nervous system is so named as it is located in the periphery - it means beyond the brain and spinal cord. According to different aspects of the nervous system, the boundary between the center and the periphery is not necessarily universal.

Structurally, there are two elements, the central nervous system and the peripheral nervous system. According to the National Institutes of Health, the central nervous system consists of the brain, spinal cord, and nerve. The peripheral nervous system consists of sensory neurons, ganglia (neuron clusters) and nerves connected to one another and to the central nervous system. Functionally, the nervous system has two main subdivisions: somatic cells or voluntary components; and autonomous or involuntary components. According to Merck 's manual, the autonomic nervous system can adjust specific body processes such as blood pressure and respiratory rate without requiring conscious effort. Somatic cell lines are composed of brain and spinal cord, nerves connecting sensory receptors of muscle and skin.
