STDF international trade and invasive alien species (IAS) seminar was held in Geneva, Switzerland from 12th to 13th July 2012.

• Improve communication and cooperation between domestic environment, plant protection, trade and other relevant fields.

• Use risk assessment guidelines and other procedures and criteria developed by the International Plant Protection Convention.

• Formal consultation with these agencies through delegation of each country (alien species as plant pest)

• The Conference of the Parties to the Convention on Biological Diversity seeks reports on invasive alien species to standard setting bodies (Decision IX / 4A, 2008)

• An inter-agency contact group on invasive alien species (2009) was established, an official conference was held in 2010 and 2011, and provided guidance to member countries for each international organization.

Prior to WIPO SCCR 24 held in July 2012, a number of documents on educational limitations and exceptions were submitted for distribution to the WIPO secretariat. These documents include proposals from Ecuador, Peru and Uruguay, drafts and thematic groups on restrictions and exceptions for the benefit of education, education and research institutes submitted by Brazil, and appropriate " Exception to relevant disabled persons ". Provisional working paper of international legal documents (any format) including comments and written proposals. The African Group has previously submitted a comprehensive proposal on restrictions and exceptions in blind people, libraries and archives, and education, for blind people and other printed materials.
