Causes of Contaminated Land

Hazardous substances existing on land or on land will subsequently pose a threat to human health and the environment itself, called contaminated land (Ministry of the Environment, 2013). Compared to other developed countries in the world, the number of contaminated places in New Zealand is not appropriate (Environment, n.d). These figures may not be high throughout the country, but problems remain, and serious exposure to human health is still possible (environment, nd).

The main objective of this research is to examine the oil pollution of the land as a global problem, to evaluate the cause and effect of oil pollution in the world and Nigeria, then to assess the effectiveness of land treatment It is to evaluate whether it is technology. That is the Niger Delta of Nigeria. In order to achieve this goal, the following problems will be solved; the land of oil pollution has become a widespread concern, drawing attention of politicians, environmentalists and scientists. As various toxic organic chemicals are brought into the environment by accident or deliberately, the public is paying more and more attention. Petroleum hydrocarbons are a common example of these chemicals and often invade the environment in large quantities through various pathways.

Today, plastic bags are the main cause of land pollution. Toxic chemicals from plastics can contaminate the soil. This hinders the growth of plants. These are very light and transported to various places by the wind, so farmlands are also affected by them. They lower the quality of the soil and make it fertile. It destroys the seeds planted in the basement and hinders the growth of plants. The animal opens a plastic bag that can be eaten in the garbage can. These bags can seriously damage the gastrointestinal tract and cause various diseases. Birds, fish, and various marine organisms also eat plastic ingredients that float in air or water and cause various diseases. People who eat these sick creatures can develop serious diseases
