The water wheel converts the energy of the falling water into mechanical energy that can be used in the machine. Water enters the wheel through a pipe. The wheel is arranged on a shaft which is connected to a machine which is actuated by the gear. There are two types of water wheels, vertical and horizontal. Vertical wheels have upper and lower punches. There is a bucket around the salvage water wheel. Water is supplied to the top of the wheel. The weight of the water falling into the bucket will rotate the wheel.

In the past, people used simple machines called water wheels to generate specific movements through the movement of water from rivers and other water sources.
