This is June 10, 1194. Several hours later, people living in Chartres of France will hear a hoarse flame and dark black smoke. This is a night when most of Chartres is burned, but destruction also includes the destruction of Notre Dame Cathedral in Notre Dame Cathedral. A part of the church survived to this day, but most of the original buildings were consumed or seriously damaged (Harris). This article explains the main difference between Romanesque and Gothic style and how to convert an existing Romanesque style church to a new style.
Chartres Cathedral, also known as the Church of Our Lady of Chartres (French: CathédraleNotre-Dame de Chartres), is a Roman Catholic church in Chartres, France, about 80 km south-west of Paris. Since Chartres became a bishop of the 4th century, it was built between 1194 and 1220 and occupied at least five cathedral cathedrals. It is Gothic style and Roman style. The cathedral is well preserved. Most of the windows of the original stained glass are untouched, the building has only changed slightly since the beginning of the 13th century. The building's appearance is dominated by a sturdy flight arch that allows architects to significantly increase the size of the windows. On the other hand, the west end consists of two contrasting spiers. In the old tower the gorgeous spire of the early 16th century (377 feet)
Notre Dame Cathedral is the highest Gothic church in France and the largest church. In addition to Chartres and Reims Cathedral, Amiens is a member of the famous "high Gothic" or "classic" French Cathedral triad built in the 13th century. Amiens Cathedral was registered as a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1981. It is beautifully harmonized art and architecture. According to the local legend, Amiens' first church was founded by St. Philmin, a disciple of St. Satu Luminas of Toulouse. After his martyrdom, he was handed down to another person named Firmin. He was known as Confessor St. Philmin. I do not know anything about these Firmins; their biographies were invented in the Middle Ages.
