Unbalanced literature mainly involves analysis of recognition patterns of students identified as African American, and not so often. Hispanic, Asian, Native American. The ED and MIMR categories consistently include overwhelming majority students identified as African Americans and the learning disability (LD) category includes frequent over-labeling of students identified as Native American. The nationwide representation of students identified as Asian and Latin American is insufficient. But for Asian and Latin American students, there are too many states, areas, schools, especially in the field of LD. In the case of Latin Americans, the representational models at the regional level can vary widely, so researchers will require further research to examine the representative model (Klingner, Artiles, & Mendez-Bartletta, 2006 ).
