Carl Sandburg

Carl Sandberg was born in Galesburg, Illinois on January 6, 1878. Carl and his family live in a three-room cottage on 313 East Third Street in Galesburg, Illinois. His parents' names are August and Clara Anderson Sandburg. Sandberg's nickname is Charlie. His parents are Swedish immigrants. His father worked in a blacksmith in Chicago. Thunderburg dropped out at the age of 13, so he did not receive much education. His favorite subject at school is geography.
