In many areas of science and engineering, especially in doctoral programs, you may be invited to work as a research assistant for consultant research programs. One aspect of this research may be your own research topic. Normally, such arrangements are beneficial for both parties. As a "scholar of scholars" you will have your own research experience and the professor will receive very needed assistance.

If you are invited to participate in such a program, please be aware of that information as soon as possible. Think about whether you are encouraged to educate yourself extensively. Many students are focusing on certain aspects of research, ignoring the background of understanding their work and developing skills that will enable interdisciplinary careers.

I work hard to find out how your consultant will reward you for your work. For example, is your name listed first in publications made by your own work? This is particularly important for collaborative projects, as your own contributions may be difficult to distinguish from other projects. If you do not have a portfolio that can be used to start your own new career or laboratory, you do not want to end it. Review another document of COSEPUP (become scientist: responsible behavior in research) that provides guidance on research ethics (COSEPUP 1995). Please read this handbook before starting research activities; encourage group discussion on this topic through one of the mechanisms discussed here

Samer is a master's degree in computer science and engineering from the University of California, San Diego, Co-founder of Conigo Labs. Prior to entering the graduate school, I established TableScribe, a medium and small business intelligence tool, and advised McKinsey's Fortune 100 company over two years. Samer studied Computer Science and Ethics, Politics, Economics at Yale University. Most of this series was written during a ten-day trip to the UK. And in ambiguous trains, planes, cafes, bars and other places where we can find a dry place to sit. Our goal is to integrate our understanding of artificial intelligence, machine learning, and how it fits - and hoping to create something worth sharing in the process I will.

This week I talked about Mr. Andrea Wang, a recent graduate of Stanford University (currently in charge of consulting at AT Kearney). Andrea came to study at Art University in Stanford University and her first internship was National Geographic and traveled as a photographer and student archeologist in Europe. Andrea has completed a major in art history, but he is also interested in finance and technology. After acquiring a degree, she worked at BD at BAML and operations department, and bicycle sharing startup LimeBike. Andrea also created an introduction to Converse (an e-magazine that shares the stories of people from all walks of life) and the Lizard Institution (summer school focusing on China's creativity and leadership).

Founder met at Master's degree in computer science at New Science Park of Cornell Institute of Technology, Cornell University, New York. Before graduation, Brunno worked as a software engineer at JP Morgan Chase and Brazilian e-commerce company Buscapé. Bill began his career as a lawyer, then began researching computer science, joining Mashable's data science team, centering on video data. Uru was born at the Cornell Tech Startup Studio course by Professor David Tisch of Box Group. It focuses on transforming ideas into a sustainable business through prototype and customer validation cycles. Brunno and Bill are also working with Professional and Computer Vision Singer Serge Belongie, Digital Persona, Anchovi Labs (acquired by Dropbox), Orpix's Serial Entrepreneur and Technical Consultant. This team also won Cornell Tech's $ 100,000 Entrepreneurship Award. This is a small committee by industry experts who has won numerous startups each year.
