Canterbury Tales: The Knight

In Canterbury Tales, Cavaliers is a modern knight. Descriptions of the personality of this character are ambiguous, but modern people are not difficult to imagine. In the preface, it refers to the Cavaliers according to the five basic ideals that the Order should have, "Order, Truth, Honor, Generosity, and Courtesy" (Chaucer 4). Cavaliers participated in the Crusaders, and Europeans tried to change the culture of people through brute force, traveling to places other than Christianity in the sea and thought to be brave and noble. From his love to the five basic ideals above to his impressive military career, Cavaliers is the perfect example of a way to represent the Cavaliers. Indirectly, this story is discussing what Cavaliers and Knights should think. Although the story itself is not important, it is an important meaning of the story, such as pursuit of love like the court, the dangers of death, respect for women.

In the story of Canterbury, Cavaliers started telling stories. Straw was chosen and its order was left to "adventure" or "cas", but Harry Bailey seemed to push fate. The knight represents the best caste, ruler, prayer, and worker in the social class of the 14th century. Assume that secular knights speak the most interesting and understandable stories (which will shorten their pilgrimage to St. Thomas Beckett), and Harry tells the knight to begin with
