Canada Should Focus More on Rehabilitation and Less on Retribution

Society has worked on rewards and punishment systems for a long time. In other words, it will be rewarded if good deeds take place or someone acts in the way they want. Or you will be punished if you do not comply with social norms. What society expects from the criminal justice system is an individual who punishes and restores a crime. Punishment and rehabilitation are two recognized goals of the criminal justice system and are based on the concept of "eyes for the eyes, teeth for the teeth", and simply punishment and revenge for being evil I mean it. The idea is to have people who are likely to commit crime (specific deterrence) commit the same crime, afraid of being punished and bypassing others (general deterrence).
