Campus Security and Police Information

2017 Annual security and fire safety report can be viewed. The report contains information on school crime and fire statistics, and campus safety policies, procedures and plans.

To Boise State University there is a mobile security application called Rave Guardian that allows you to call the security department by sending an alarm or pushing a button or assigning parents to check in while you are out.

Anonymous reports and silent witness programs allow university community members to anonymously report criminal activity and other threats and concerns.

Based on the Clay Act, the Campus Security Authority (CSA) was designated as a student and employee in the campus police or security department, an individual who is in charge of campus security but does not constitute the campus security department, or an organization's campus security policy statement Individuals are included. The history of campus policing has a history of more than 100 years, its origin is almost the same as other police institutions centered on security and parental services. If the police station on campus receives an oath, there is the same arrest right as the police force within that jurisdiction. Campus police are proved to be the basic form of campus security, but there are different security forms among institutions. Some schools only employ unauthorized security guards, others have hired certified police officers. Since many universities systematically specialize the public security department, it is now similar to the police departments of rural, county and state. This change involves formal law enforcement training, granting of arrest rights, and in most cases carrying guns during their duties.
