The Shoshone Project has become one of the first federal water development projects initiated by a newly established landfill station (later known as a landfill station). After the landfill project inherited the project in 1903, the survey engineer proposed to build a dam in the Shoshone River in the western cany of Cody. Construction of Shoshone Dam began in 1905 the year after the Shoshone Project was approved. When it was completed in 1910, it was the highest dam in the world.
