In Spain's idealized mission plan, the result would be that American Indians become excellent Catholics and excellent Spanish citizens. The Franciscan monks become teaching tools in the missionary system and seem to be healthy and beneficial at least for the Spaniard. It will work this way. The American Indians will report to self-sufficient missionary communities that they will participate in non-Spanish courses to learn about Christianity and the Catholic Church. They will grow and mature in spirituality and civil rights. The American Indians will be saved and "secularized" and will eventually be released from the mission system as a valuable member of the Catholic Church and Texas Spanish society.

The second floor of the block Texas State History Museum introduced Texas State, USA, to Texas at that time. Using maps and land documents from the Texas Land office, visitors learned about the local system used to stimulate colonization, and met with immigrants who moved to Texas between 1821 and 1836 did.
