For a while, Buffalo was widely distributed from Alaska to northern Mexico. In addition to Yellowstone Park in Wyoming Province and Wood Buffalo Park in Northwest Canada, Bison is now eliminated in the wild. Bison has disappeared in American prairie and many ecosystem species. Deep scratches destroy the landscape where the soil is swept away by the water. The lives of ranchers and farmers are gone. Bison's body is very big. They are also tall animals with two different characteristics, one with a shoulder hump and the other with a huge head.

Founded in 1875, Buffalo Zoo is 300 Parkside Avenue in Buffalo, NY and is the third oldest zoo in America. Every year, the Buffalo Zoo welcomes some 400,000 visitors and is the second largest tourist destination in western New York State, second only to Niagara Falls. The 23.5 acre (9.5 hectare) Buffalo Delaware Park in the zoo displays wild animals, exotic animals, and over 320 plants. The zoo is open year-round. The history of the zoo dates back to the mid-19th century when Buffalo fur merchant Jacob E. Bergtold gave Buffalo a pair of deer. In order to provide a grazing space for the deer, Buffalo Daily publishing house Elam R. Juetto proposed to put a deer on his property. At the same time the planning of the municipal North Park (today's Delaware Park) is ongoing, mayor William F. Rogers hired a landscape architect Frederick Law Olmsted to use the zoo as part of the park design.
