From Buddhist sculpture and art studies in Orissa's cultural ruins and memorials it is pointed out that the Mahayana form of Buddhism gradually changed to Vajrayana style Buddhism in the middle of the 9th century. As can be seen from the source of calligraphy, Buddhism was very popular until the end of Somavamsi rule in Orissa State. From these sources, it is well known that Ratnagiri Mahavihara is the center of the great Buddhist. As if to support this, we have numerous Vajrayana sculptures in Ratnagiri. These are various forms such as Guanyin Bodhisattva, Manjushri, Heruka, Jambhala, Kurukulla, Mahakala, Vajrasattva, Aparchana, Vajrapani, Tara, Aparajita, Marichi, Arya Saraswati, Vajra Tara.

Other important sculptures are Solampur's Tara letters, three King Kong Sava statues, Banesvaranasi's Prajnaparamita, Banpur's Tara picture, Maitreyi picture near Kendupatna, Avalokiteswara, Padmapani, and Yamantaka.
