The setting "Broken Mountain Forest" begins at a mental hospital through an anonymous motel room and a tattoo shop and ends behind a police car. Brokeback Mountain has not clearly stated whether Leonard was admitted to a mental hospital (some ambiguous clues suggest that he may already exist).
