British’s Government’s Intervention during the Great Irish Famine

A great famine in Ireland occurred in the middle of the 19th century due to the death of the potatoes and attacked Ireland in 1845 (Grada, "The Great Famine of Ireland" 43). Because Ireland is heavily dependent on potatoes in daily diet (Grada, "Irish Great Famine" 43), it destroys most crops and becomes "fatal".
