British Castles

For centuries the castle was a symbol of great power and wealth. Originally built for protection, many castle designs concentrate on defense mechanisms to protect people's safety when attacked (McCulloch). The conqueror William was the first ruler who brought a castle to the land of the UK after the invasion of France in the UK. Construction of a castle is the most effective way of William to rule his newly applied land (Hull). Today, many people visit these castles to experience wonderful sophisticated designs and tapestries, but once visited because it was a host of many magnificent battles and events of history.

When he died in 1176, he acquired the title of Count Pembroke and Striguil, Lord Reinster and Justicar of Ireland. However, because there was no son, ownership and property was returned to the throne using Pembroke Castle and continued to monitor the interests of the entire Irish royal family. In 1199, the title of Earl Pembroke was awarded to William Marshall.

Edinburgh Castle is another good castle in the UK and is one of the most iconic features of the Edinburgh landscape. The rock of the castle where the castle is located dates back to at least the second century of the second AD.
