Bridging the Gap

"To learn how to learn, you need to enjoy learning - or at least you must enjoy it ..." (Friedman, 310). Friedman explained when talking about how children motivate them to receive education. Sadly, the US has denied that children who are still educated really want it. Many of my classmates graduated from school with excellent results and a bright future, but some graduates do not have papers. But without "dream", children of illegal immigrant parents will not be subject to economic aid, no matter how good their students are.

That is very likely. Unfortunately, filling up this gap is not easy. However, there are definite characteristics and experiences that indicate individual possessions that can fill the gap. At my graduate school, I studied how some white racist equality activists overcome the 'empathy gap between groups'. Meaning connection between groups: In the context that each person pursues a common goal, carry out a project to work and exchange with people of various groups (for example, partnering with someone etc.) Then, interact with a member of the external group and the service provider. )

As an experienced designer, I regard myself as a bridge of empathy. In other words, I will help fill the gap of empathy between business stakeholders and end users. In my experience, filling this gap with empathy is the most important aspect of the design project. Otherwise, most design projects will eventually be archived and never seen again. I believe in the magic of the Lego effect. I believe that using LEGO in an experienced design project is very effective in attracting stakeholders and supporting design careers. For all the experienced designers out there - start using LEGO with your project - if none else happens you will start to love your work more than now
