Book review of “Incidents in the life of a slave girl”

"The event in the life of a slave girl" is autobiography by Harriet Anne Jacobs. This is a story about the struggle of women's slaves bred by her grandmother. Her first mistress was very kind and generous. However, after her first mistress died, her will to Dr. James Norm is her will, and she was the source of all her sufferings. When Jacobs became his slave, Dr. James continued sexual harassment to Jacobs. Jacob mistakenly met a good lawyer and made two children. In order to protect children, she was hiding in the grandmother 's warehouse from 1835 to 1842 and was only able to read, sew and see the child from the cracks in the roof. Jacob finally headed for New York in 1842. Her employer finally bought her freedom.

This story is very real and moving, I was shocked when I read the bad treatment of Dr. Jacob from Dr. James. It reveals the truth about slave slavery during slavery. Slaves do not have the right to pursue freedom and freedom, but they have their own master. Female slaves are even poorer, and their bodies are even to their owners.
