"The event in the life of a slave girl" is autobiography by Harriet Anne Jacobs. This is a story about the struggle of women's slaves bred by her grandmother. Her first mistress was very kind and generous. However, after her first mistress died, her will to Dr. James Norm is her will, and she was the source of all her sufferings. When Jacobs became his slave, Dr. James continued sexual harassment to Jacobs. Jacob mistakenly met a good lawyer and made two children. In order to protect children, she was hiding in the grandmother 's warehouse from 1835 to 1842 and was only able to read, sew and see the child from the cracks in the roof. Jacob finally headed for New York in 1842. Her employer finally bought her freedom.
